Jackson County is made up of citizens that share
the same values and this makes our county a
better place to live and do business.  It may be off
to the ATV drag races, a church outing, a Friday
night high school football game or a quiet drive
through the county to enjoy the scenery.  The
quality of life is unsurpassed in Jackson County.

Boating and water skiing are available on the Ohio
River, which borders the entire western side of the
county. Parks and ball fields are located throughout the county. Fishing is good at
Rollins Lake near Ripley, O'Brien Lake and several watershed lakes. Public hunting
is available in Eastern Jackson County. Ripley has Olympic size municipal
swimming pool.

The Jackson County Junior Fairgrounds attracts crowds each year for the annual
Jackson County Junior fair as well as gospel sings. Camping is available, and as a
result, the grounds are in use throughout the year. Cedar Lakes Conference Center,
a state owned facility, offers fishing and recreation year round and hosts camps for
4-H, bands and church groups. It also provides week long and weekend classes.
Hiking and walking trails are also available.
